On Monday things went quiet bad for my seniors. The annual SFY competition was in the morning up to the afternoon and my seniors and some intermidiate concert band members took part for the SYF. The rest of the intermidiate band and two of our seniors were in the band room, listening for the results on one of my friend's handphone and everybody was silent. We had our fingers crossed hoping that they win a gold or silver and we were anxious.
I was recording a video using my handphone thinking that I may be able to record the moment concert band would win a gold or silver. Upon hearing the results, our excitement turned to sheer disappointment when concert band won bronze for the SYF. The only thing I caught was a room filled with unhappy faces and then the drama started. My seniors started to quarrel and cry.
Some of them broke down drastically and some felt very guity and sorry for letting down their juniors. We cried for them too. We shared the sadness with them too. We were surprised in what was happening over there and in an effort to make them feel better we told them not be sad and that we were still very proud of them to have won a bronze. They are still a GOLD WITH HONOURS BAND in our hearts and we love them very much.
Concert Band did their very best and they have practiced really hard from last year until now. They even took extra pains to practice on the days there was no band practice and they put their heart and soul into it. Yesterday someone said that concert band had disgraced the school and THAT IS NOT TRUE! Someone said this from behind with my back turned and upon hearing this I turned around to see who said such A HORRID thing but the person kept quiet.
If I knew who said that I would have slapped that person. They dared to say it in front of a girl from concert band somemore! I was so angry when I heard this! Those who say concert band disgraced SACSS HOW DARE YOU! MY DEAR SENIORS WORKED VERY HARD AND WE THE JUNIORS, ARE VERY PROUD OF THEM AND GETTING A BRONZE IS BETTER THAN GETTING A CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPTION!
A TOTAL OF A 150 SCHOOLS WERE COMPETING AND THEY EVEN WORKED HARD IN HAWAII AND BROUGHT BACK A SILVER AWARD FROM AN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITON! THEY HAVE DONE US PROUD AND THERE ARE OTHER CHANCES FOR THE SCHOOL TO COME BACK TOP AGAIN! IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT IT KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!
Sorry this is not like me but if some people want to make such comments about my seniors, they can answer to me. I love my seniors alot and they are the best band of any other band in Singapore, altohugh we don't get along sometimes. We believe in them and thats just who they are and we still have faith in them. I just hope that everyone does not make such a big deal about it.
Anyway Mid-year exams are only two weeks away and I'm intirely stressed. You're stressed to right? Well just start studying hard and then everything will be ok. My worst nightmare in the class has finally met her match! She argued with my dance teacher and she rolled her eyes at her. I was happy that she was sent out of the room. Hehe:-)My teacher showed her. Nvr mess with the bad girl. I'm still trying to put up th tagboard. Sorry. I'll try to make my story more interesting and sorry if this is boring you. I'll blog soon.
